We have an 8 week old male chicken (cockerel) who needs another home. He is healthy with very handsome coloring, a rose comb and what looks like beard/muff feathers coming in. He carries the green egg gene.
His breed is "H and N Green" from Sunnyside Hatchery in Horicon, WI (formerly Beaver Dam). This is what their brochure states:
The H and N Green is a hybrid commercial laying strain
that will dependably produce green-colored eggs.
Plumage color will vary from black to red and everything
in between, and some birds will even carry a small crest
or a hint of a beard. We were able to forge a
relationship with H and N International to supply us with European
stock not previously available to customers in the U.S.
We would be happy to keep him, but we live in town. He started to crow at about 7 weeks old and already has other rooster traits like making warning sounds to the girls when he sees a threat (such as a hawk overhead) and also letting them know of any delicious bugs or plants he finds so they can come partake too. He isn't overly aggressive and can be handled/picked up without him trying to peck you.
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Pick up is in Sheboygan Falls, not too far from the post office. If you email me and don't get a reply it is likely a tech glitch so please try again or text or call and leave a voicemail.
