Engineering Technician, Plastics Mold Shop

Opportunity

 Join Kohler’s Plastics Mold Shop and play a key role in building the fiberglass molds, thermoforming tools, fixtures, and jigs th support KOHLER’s industry-leading acrylic bhing products. This is a hands-on fabricion role designed for technicians who enjoy craftsmanship, problem-solving, and building high-quality production tooling.

Wh You’ll Do

• Build prototype, development, and production-grade tooling, including high‑gloss gelco molds, polyester thermoforming molds, and metal jigs & fixtures.
  
• Collabore with engineering teams to cree prototype parts made of wood, metal, or composite merials th facilite the development of new processes and products.
  
• Perform fiberglass layup, gelco work, sanding, finishing, and mold surface preparion.
  
• Additional activities encompass woodworking, metal fabricion, welding, and the applicion of pneumics.
  
• Collect and record test da during product performance testing.
  
• Mentor and train other Mold Shop technicians.
  
• Provide on-site support Kohler Plastics Plants (TX, AR, BC) during equipment startups and troubleshooting (occasional travel 1 - 4 times per year).

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Associe degree in an engineering-reled field or 5+ years of hands‑on fabricion shop experience.
  
•  Ability to read engineering drawings.
  
• High-level construction skills for building fixtures and tooling.
  
• Proficiency in least two of the following:
  
  • Woodworking for models and pterns
    
  • Metalworking and welding for tooling fabricion
    
  • Fiberglass lamining for building masters and molds
    
• Willingness to learn and grow in all proficiencies with on-the-job training.

 Preferred Skills

• Experience with FRP composites, thermoforming tooling, or plastics manufacturing.
  
• Strong craftsmanship, tention to detail, and problem-solving.
  
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

The specific hourly re offered to a candide may be influenced by a variety of factors including candide's educion and work locion.
