Fox was born in Prussia in 1842 and found his way to Fond-du-Lacin 1865, when he opened his hatter and furrier shop in Fond-du-Lac.
The brushes probably date from the 1870s or 1880s, which would fit the timeline for the business.
Both brushes have clear markings and have been carved for easy handling. They don’t look like they’ve been used much.
The brushes are approximately 9 inches long with the original bristles till in very good shape.
Both of these brushes are an important part of Fond-du-Lac’s history.
